Namirial-certified tablets and smartphones that meet the Beebeesign requirements: Android 8.0 and iOS 15.6 as a minimum, a pen with pressure detection.
Beebeesign minimum requirements
A device is suitable for graphometric signature only if it meets all these conditions. These are the requirements of the Beebeesign app in the version distributed today, not generic guidance.
- Android 8.0 (API 26) or a later version.
- iOS or iPadOS 15.6 or a later version.
- Manufacturer's active pen, able to detect pressure: Apple Pencil, S Pen, or the tablet's original pen.
- Namirial-certified device for capturing biometric data: they are the models listed below.
- One signature licence per device: the same licence does not move from one tablet to another.
Finger signing can be enabled in the app settings, but it switches off the collection of biometric data: the document stays signed and remains valid as an electronic signature, but without the pressure and speed data that give the graphometric signature its evidential value. For the same reason generic capacitive styluses are not allowed: they touch the screen, they do not measure pressure.
Compatible iPads
All the models in the table reach iOS 15.6 and have a certified pen. Where an update limit is shown, the device works but Apple no longer releases versions of iPadOS: consider it only if the company already has it.

Compatible Android smartphones
On phones signing is possible, but the small screen makes it awkward to read the document before signing it. To have a contract signed at the counter or at the client's home, a tablet is better.

Older models: they work, but we do not recommend them
Namirial keeps them in its historical list and they meet the Android 8.0 minimum, so Beebeesign runs on them. The manufacturer, however, no longer releases security updates: on a device that handles clients' personal data this is a risk that is not worth the saving.

Frequently asked questions about graphometric signature devices
Android 8.0 or later, or iOS and iPadOS 15.6 or later. You also need an active pen that detects pressure and a device included in the Namirial certification list.
Yes, the option exists in the Beebeesign settings, but turning it on stops the app from collecting biometric data. The signature remains valid as an electronic signature, but it loses the pressure and speed data on which the advanced electronic signature rests.
No. Cheap styluses simulate a fingertip and do not transmit pressure. You need the device manufacturer's active pen: Apple Pencil on iPad, S Pen on Samsung, the original pen on other tablets.
No. Namirial certification measures how that specific model captures pressure and coordinates, and it is what makes the signature enforceable. A non-certified device cannot produce an advanced electronic signature.
Yes. The signature licence is tied to the individual device: if you try to use it on a second tablet, the app reports that the licence is already in use elsewhere. Two workstations need two licences.
It depends on the pen. The iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4 and 5th generation iPad reach iOS 15.6 but support no Apple Pencil, and the only certified pens for those models, the Wacom Bamboo Sketch and Fineline, are no longer in production. That is why they are no longer on the list.
