Frequently Asked Questions
FSE 2.0 for physiotherapists: everything you need to know
Are physiotherapists required to use FSE 2.0?
Yes. From March 31, 2026, all healthcare professionals—including freelance physiotherapists and those working in private facilities—are required to submit reports of services provided to their Electronic Health Record 2.0, as required by Legislative Decree 34/2020 (Relaunch Decree) and subsequent implementing provisions.
What documents must a physiotherapist submit to the FSE?
Cosmetic surgery falls under the FSE obligation when it represents a healthcare service (reconstructive, post-traumatic, post-oncological, or therapeutic procedures). Purely cosmetic procedures are not formally covered by the obligation, but recording the documentation in the FSE is highly recommended for: legal protection of the surgeon, medical-legal traceability, continuity of care, and transparency of informed consent.
How long do I have to send the report to the FSE?
The law requires that every healthcare service be entered into the EHR within 5 days of its provision. With BeebeeDoc, the transmission occurs automatically immediately after the report is digitally signed, ensuring compliance with deadlines without any manual intervention.
Is specific software needed for physiotherapists for FSE 2.0?
The informed consent must include: a description of the procedure, specific risks (complications, unguaranteed results), treatment options, realistic expectations, pre-operative photos, and authorization to use the images in the EHR. BeebeeDoc provides pre-filled templates specifically for aesthetic procedures, digital patient signature with a legal timestamp, and automatic integration into the EHR.
Do aesthetic practices with multiple surgeons need to coordinate their FSE management?
Aesthetic practices with multiple surgeons must ensure coordinated access to patient records, tracking of who has added/modified documents (audit trail), visibility of colleagues' reports for continuity of care, and maintaining security and privacy. BeebeeDoc supports multi-user management with granular permissions and automatic synchronization to the EHR.
Which documents must be registered before the intervention in the ESF?
Preoperative documentation must include: signed informed consent, standardized clinical photos (lateral, frontal, and three-quarter views), anthropometric measurements, complete medical history, risk assessment, detailed surgical plan, and realistic patient expectations. BeebeeDoc provides structured templates and integrations with clinical photography devices.
What to include in post-operative documentation?
Postoperative documentation includes: a complete surgical report describing the procedure, a discharge letter, detailed postoperative instructions, initial photographs of the results, a follow-up plan with check-up dates and times, a description of the postoperative course, and any management of complications. All documentation must be recorded in the EHR within 10 days of surgery.
Does BeebeeDoc also work for physiotherapy practices with multiple practitioners?
Yes. BeebeeDoc is a cloud-based management system that supports practices with multiple physiotherapists, each with their own digital signature certificate. Each professional independently signs and transmits their reports to the EHR, with a shared practice-wide archive for managing patients and rehabilitation cycles.
BeebeeDoc is not just FSE 2.0. Discover all the features of the cloud management software for physiotherapists: diary, medical records, electronic invoicing and much more.
